Paul McCrane as Graem Bauer

Graem Bauer, on the television series, 24, was played by Paul McCrane. Graem is the deceased brother of former CTU agent Jack Bauer. He is survived by his wife, Marilyn, and his children, one of whom is named Joshua. He was affiliated with BXJ Technologies and former President Charles Logan.

He was in charge of the Sentox Nerve Gas attacks and conspiracy, and it was revealed that he and his organization had planned the said attack eighteen months before the start of Day 5. A major part of the plan included getting the help of White House Chief of Staff Walt Cummings. Graem’s associate, James Nathanson, was tasked to recruit Walt in the hopes of later using the Chief of Staff as their scapegoat. Graem and his organization were working with President Charles Logan and Christopher Henderson, but after the nerve gas attacks, their plans took a wrong turn, consequently implicating Walt and getting James killed by the terrorists. Christopher and Charles also did not escape detection, as former CTU agent Jack Bauer eventually found out about Charles’ and Christopher’s involvement in the conspiracy.

As for Graem, he and his affiliates were initially able to evade the CTU’s investigations. Graem attempted to mend and resume his plans, and when he was contacted by Charles, Graem proceeded to lecture Charles about the first lady, Martha Logan. Graem felt that Martha was a beginning to pose as a huge threat to their plans, and their conversation ended with Charles assuring Graem that he would take care of Martha. Later on, when Charles got in touch with Graem again, Graem reiterated his desire to silence Martha and also commended Charles on the way he was handling other people’s suspicions.

After former CTU agent Jack Bauer recovered evidence further implicating Charles, Graem told Charles to shoot down Jack’s plane, but their plan was unsuccessful. Jack was able to get away and eventually got Charles arrested, but before Jack could secure the same fate for Graem, the Chinese abducted Jack.

It was only during Day 6 that it was revealed that not only was Graem a defense contractor for BXJ Technologies, he was also Jack Bauer’s brother. Graem had become estranged from Jack after Marilyn, Graem’s wife, had gotten into a romantic relationship with Jack. It was also on Day 6 that Jack tortured Graem (during which Graem said that he planned the murders of David Palmer, Tony Almeida and Michelle Dessler). After Graem was able to thwart Jack’s interrogations, Graem died in the hands of their own father, Phillip Bauer.
