Louis Lombardi as Edgar Stiles

Edgar Stiles was portrayed by Louis Lombardi on the series, 24. Edgar was an Intelligence Analyst and protocol manager at the Control Terrorist Unit at Los Angeles. He majored in Computer at New York University, from where he eventually graduated with honors. He is adept at numerous programming languages, including C and C++. His mother was killed due to a nuclear reactor meltdown on Day 4.

One of his greatest gifts was his photographic memory, which became evident at the beginning of Day 4. CTU analyst Chloe O’Brian initially viewed Edgar as a bit of a “patsy,” but later on would become good friends with Edgar.

Among Edgar’s achievements during Day 4 are proving CTU Agent Sarah Gavin’s innocence (and implicating another CTU Agent, Marianne Taylor in the process), stabilizing 98 plants without having to use the Dobson override and gaining control of CTU- Los Angeles’ Analyst Department.

At the beginning of Day 5, Edgar found out that former CTU Agent Jack Bauer was alive and well, and that Jack had been named one of the possible suspects in the murder of former President David Palmer. He was disappointed that Chloe did not tell him about Jack’s real condition and location, but she reasoned out that it was for the sake of National Security. She then remarked sarcastically about her attempt to open up to Edgar, which caught him off-guard. He felt even more stressed with Chloe after he found out her romantic involvement with Spenser Wolf.

Towards the end of Day 5, Edgar, in the midst of Sentox nerve gas attack, went back to the CTU main room after he tried to check up on Carrie Bendis, who went to see the ventilator system that caused the system warnings. Because he failed to make it back in time, Edgar could not access the situation room before the lockdown. Consequently, he fell victim to the deadly Sentox nerve gas, with his last word being, “Chloe.”
