Kim Raver as Audrey Raines
Audrey Raines is played by Kim Raver on the television series,
24. Audrey graduated from Yale University with a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, and pursued her Master of Arts in Public Policy at Brown University. She is the daughter of former Secretary of Defense James Heller.
She first started working for the government as a legislative assistant, and one of her main duties was coordinating with the House Armed Services Committee. Her previous occupations include working as a government contracts consultant for Anderson Aerospace Corporation, a government associate for Ballard Technology and a registered lobbyist.
Audrey, who had been separated from her husband, Paul Raines, for quite some time, developed strong feeling for former CTU agent Jack Bauer during Day 4. She did not feel any guilt about their relationship because she believed she and Paul were past the point of reconciliation. However, after Jack saved Audrey and her father from a band of terrorists, Paul and Secretary Heller learned about Jack and Audrey’s relationship. Despite Audrey’s initial belief about her failed marriage, she found herself the object of both Jack’s and Paul’s affection.
Soon after, Paul was shot in his attempt to save Jack’s life, but when Jack had to choose between saving Paul’s life and saving a man who could assist him in easing the tension regarding a nuclear missile, Jack opted to save the man. As a result, Paul died from his injuries, and Audrey turned away from Jack. Towards the end of Day 4, Jack’s death was staged in order to evade further conflict with China, and the news clearly affected Audrey. However, Audrey came to learn about the staged death on Day 5.
Audrey returned to CTU in order to help investigate the assassination of former President David Palmer. She got into some hot water with CTU chief Lynn McGill, and was accused of participating in terrorist attacks, for which she was cleared later on with the help of Jack Bauer. Upon her reinstatement, she helped Jack evade President Charles Logan, but despite having done so successfully, Jack was captured by the Chinese authorities at the end of Day 5. At the beginning of Day 6, Jack was informed that Audrey had died in the process of freeing him from the Chinese, but later found out that Audrey had actually been held hostage by the Chinese authorities.
