As part of FOX's Fall TV press junket in Los Angeles last week, we were lucky enough to receive an invite to the FOX Fall Eco-Casino party at trendy nightclub Area in West Hollywood. Being a lowly internet writer, this was my first experience at a big-time Hollywood event. They even had a red carpet (which I did not walk down; bloggers use the back entrance, out of sight from the real press), which was all flash bulbs and TV cameras. Exciting stuff. We were driven from our hotel to the club, dropped off at the press table, picked up our credentials and walked straight in. It was sweet.

Dang it all, I was hoping you were going to tell us about the shots you and the Kief threw back! Oh well.
As for the club itself, it was big and multi-faceted, low ceilinged with two very different bars in two very different rooms. A casino floor was set up in one room, which was well lit and looked a bit like an royal spa, private cabanas filled with couches behind and around the casino games. The other room was darker, with a dance floor, long bar and booths peppered throughout. Also in this room? Food! Food everywhere, and even servers walking around with preposterously good appetizers. You know you're in Hollywood when the wait staff looks like Abercrombie and Fitch models.
I had a digital camera on hand, with which I took the above photograph featuring
Kiefer Sutherland and I. This was just a few hours before Kiefer picked up the DUI. Although this picture may indicate that Kiefer had been boozing for some time, I assure you that Kiefer was quite sober at this juncture. At the very least, he was hiding his inebriation well. This picture came about halfway through the party, which lasted from around 7pm until 11pm. This was not the type of party that lasts all night. Most stars were gone by 10:30pm, and the entire club was pretty much vacant by 11pm.
My fellow BuddyTV writer/editor John Kubicek was there along for the ride, as was Daniel from TheTVAddict, who acted as my camera wingman as we stalked the party for celebrities to take helplessly self-indulgent pictures with. It actually went quite well, better than I could have expected and I ended up with a lot of photos, just pasty-faced me with some notable celebrities. So, if you'll join me, let's go on a little chronological slide show of my night at the FOX Fall TV party. If you want to skip ahead, feel free to do so. I won't be offended.
