There are 24 days until 24: Redemption, the two-hour season 7 prequel movie, airs on FOX.  Yes, 24 days.  How crazy is that?  You know, because that's totally the name of the show and that's exactly how many days there are until it airs.  It's, like, fate or something.  Anyway, this is not what we're here to talk about on this rainy (in Seattle) Thursday afternoon.  A new trailer for season 7 of 24 was disseminated onto the internets by FOX this week.  Is that something you might be interested in?  I would certainly hope so.  There's a lot of the same footage as there was from the first trailer (released a year ago), but also a lot of new goodies to feast your eyes upon.  Jack Bauer is about to make a triumphant return into our lives.  Prepare as you must.  Check out the embedded trailer below.


Some thoughts:

Cherry Jones looks mighty presidential.  Will she be a return to the good 24 president, a la David Palmer?  It looks that way.  

Bauer's FBI lady friend (Annie Wersching) strikes me as stiff and someone who the fans aren't going to like.  

The Africa plot will seep into the new season, which should be cool.  The fact that the 24 writers concocted the story for the prequel film after knowing the plot for season 7 should allow nice cohesion between the two.  

Chloe's involvement in the plot could be pretty funny, if a little forced.

Only one shot of Janeane Garofolo with no dialogue.  Same with Bill Buchanan (though he looks quite suave).  No sign of Billy Walsh, aka Rhys Coiro.

So, I guess they catch Tony Almeida fairly early on in the season.  I'm hoping the two eventually team up, but Jack did look pretty pissed off in that interrogation room.  Any chance he gives Tony the old terrorist vampire bite?
