Is
Charles Logan dead? That seems to be the big question entering tonight's episode of
24. He had no heartbeat in the final moments of last week's installment but, for anyone familiar with TV, he could very easily be revived. My guess is that Charles will make a momentary return to the living, allowing him a few parting words, then die for good. We shall see. What follows are my quick, unfiltered thoughts while watching the episode with a few
Jack Bauer degenerates like myself.
- I still can't buy Little Ricky Schroeder as a bad ass.
- I've never heard of these drones before, but they sound like some diabolical machines.
- They're going to launch their one armed drone. Either Fayed is going to kill Gredenko or Gredenko is going to kill Fayed. There's no way around it.
- And the drone has been launched successfully.
- Milo putting the moves on Nadia.
- Chloe is going on a tirade about Nadia using Milo's security access because Homeland restricted her access, seeing as she is of Middle East descent. Like Chloe has never broken the rules. Hypocrite.
- Morris can't find the drone. They assumed it was headed to Los Angeles, but that may not be the case. Somehow Gredenko's men have gotten access to CTU's tracking devices and taken it down, hence Morris not being able to find the drone. Sounds a little far-fetched, doesn't it.
- VP Noah Daniels wants to assemble the Joint Chiefs in preparation of an air strike on Saudi soil. Powers Boothe has got some blood lust in him. He even uses the phrase “rattling my saber”.
- Jack is disheveled. Marilyn Bauer is still hanging over at CTU, and Jack beelines for her immediately after entering CTU. She tries to kiss Jack, which is highly inappropriate, considering the day both of them have had. Marilyn's husband (Jack's brother) was just killed by Jack's dad.
- Audrey Raines is dead!!!!!!
- Wow, that was a nice little wrench into the proceedings. Apparently, she had a car accident in China, obviously trying to free Jack, or something.
- You know what, bear with me for a second, but maybe Audrey isn't dead. Maybe that will be what 24 season 7 is: Jack searching for Audrey in China. If so, I can't wait. Going to foreign soil is exactly what 24 needs to switch things up a bit.
- VP Daniels presides over the Joint Chiefs. Karen Hayes is back, and at the meeting, and is being the only voice of dissent. He doesn't care, though. Daniels informs everyone that his decision has been made, and that he wants a nuclear sub strike standing by.
- Hey, Milo hates Morris. Why do you hate Morris so much? He thinks Morris might be drinking again, and that is the reason he's mellowed out. Chloe agrees to check his Milo's breath for Milo and does so by walking right up and kissing him. She then immediately tells Morris the real reason she kissed him.
- Chloe discovers that there is a leak in CTU, and someone is allowing Fayed and Gredenko to mask the location of the drone.
- A little racial conflict at CTU. Schroeder tells Chloe to check and see if the leak is Nadia, a intimation that Milo takes offense to. Milo is really getting into it with people today. Anyway, Chloe informs that yes, the leak was from Nadia and she is immediately taken into custody.
- I can't imagine that the leak is actually Nadia. Someone set her up.
- According to Nadia, Ricky Schroeder gets off on hurting people.
- Morris finds the location of the drone pilot through Nadia's computer. Luckily, it's only three blocks from CTU. That's nice.
- Jack is still getting some medical attention. He sees the commotion surrounding CTU preparing to hit the drone pilot and decides he definitely needs to be involved. So, he takes point on this task.
- Hey, it's Jack's first two kills of the episode. It's about damn time. They kill the drone pilot and Jack takes over the drone controls. The location is not LA, but San Francisco.
- Chloe and Milo are talking Jack through navigating the drone out of the greater San Francisco.
- Now this is getting ridiculous. Jack has to land the drone, using what looks to be a computer game joystick. He lands it and the bomb doesn't go off.
- The San Francisco authorities find the bomb, but the nuke is leaking(?) and there is radioactive material in the air.
- VP Daniels hears the information and still wants to go forward with the Saudi warning strike. Daniels is a bad man. He gives the order to launch the missile.
