On Thursday, July 24 the biggest pop culture event of the year kicks off: the San Diego Comic-Con.  Over 125,000 people attended the convention last year and caught advance sneak peeks of shows like Lost, Heroes, Battlestar Galactica, Pushing Daisies, 24, Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles and dozens more.  The annual gathering is also where numerous movie studios hype their upcoming releases, with Iron Man and Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull being big highlights in 2007.  For four days every summer, San Diego becomes the place to be for the latest pop culture bombshells.

BuddyTV brought you news straight from the 2007 Comic-Con, and this year we're doubling our efforts to make sure every important moment of the convention is covered.  If you can't make it to San Diego this summer, all you need to do is visit BuddyTV for the latest updates.

Last year marked my first time attending Comic-Con, and I was truly surprised by how exhausting the entire experience was.  While smashed inside the massive convention center with thousands of other people, the lines are long, the crowds are huge, and decent food is impossible to find.  Wandering the convention floor, I marveled at people dressed in a variety of crazy outfits, including Spartans from 300, numerous superheroes, and one guy who looked like Mikhail Bakunin from Lost.  At times I felt right at home amongst my geeky pop culture-loving brethren, and other times I felt completely out of place.  Attending San Diego Comic-Con is truly a one of a kind experience, and one I definitely look forward to repeating this year.  There's simply nothing else like it.

The folks behind the convention have yet to release an official schedule or a list of celebrities that will be attending, but we do have some idea what to expect.  Lost showrunners Damon Lindelof and Carlton Cuse will be there to talk about the season 4 finale for the first time since it aired, and they're likely to tease season 5 as well.  Joss Whedon and Eliza Dushku will be there to talk about their upcoming FOX series Dollhouse.  Writers and cast members from shows such as 24, The Office, Fringe, Chuck, Battlestar Galactica, Smallville and Supernatural will also attend.

As we get closer to the July 24 kick off of Comic-Con, BuddyTV will be bringing you numerous updates to prepare for the big event.  We'll also be at the convention all four days, waiting in lines and brawling with people dressed as Watchmen characters so you don't have to.  Keep checking back for all the latest coverage.
