Based on the film of the same name, 10 Things I Hate About You is a sitcom focusing on the lives of the Stratford sisters as they navigate high school. Bianca (Meaghan Jette Martin) and sister Kat (Lindsey Shaw) are new to Padua High. However, they know that strategy is the key to their survival.
Polar opposites, the sisters find their way past the harsh realities of growing up amidst nerds and cheerleaders. Social butterfly Bianca is desperate to become popular, hoping to do whatever it takes to be queen of the school. Meanwhile, strong-willed Kat is an in-your-face feminist who's out to save the world once she escapes high school.
Surrounding them is a variety of classmates, like the bookish Cameron (Nicholas Braun) who immediately takes a liking to Bianca, and the tricky two-faced cheerleader Chastity (Dana Davis). Other classmates of theirs include Michael Bernstein (Kyle Kaplan) and Joey Donner (Chris Zylka). There's also one person that the sisters can't help but notice - the mysterious bad boy Patrick (Ethan Peck) who might just mean trouble for the both of them.
The Stratford girls aren't alone in their journey towards graduation. Their overprotective dad, Walter, (Larry Miller) always has his eye on them, never leaving his little ladies alone.

10 Things I Hate About You is based on the 1999 romantic comedy starring Heath Ledger as Patrick and Julia Stiles as Kat. It was directed by Gil Junger, who will also work as director for the pilot episode of the television series. The movie, a remake of William Shakespeare's "The Taming of the Shrew," was well-received by both audiences and critics alike, which led to the creation of its small screen adaptation.
10 Things I Hate About You premieres on July 7 and will air every Tuesday at 8pm on ABC Family.
