American actor Alimi Ballard was born on October 17, 1977 in the Bronx, New York. The avid collector of comic books has had a variety of roles on several series throughout his career. He began to draw acclaim due to his performances, which consist of many guest spots on several series.
Alimi Ballard had his first television role in the daytime drama Loving, where he was cast as Frank 'Frankie' Hubbard from 1993 to 1995. He followed this up with a role in New York Undercover, and reprised his role as Frankie Hubbard in The City. In 1997, he was cast in the sport comedy series Arsenio, starring Vivica A. Fox and Arsenio Hall. That year, Ballard also joined the cast of the series Sabrina the Teenage Witch. He became known there for his role as Quizmaster Albert, a character which he portrayed for more than 20 episodes. In 1998, Ballard was given a role in the sci-fi thriller Deep Impact. This enabled him to work alongside Robert Duvall, Tea Leoni, Elijah Wood, Vanessa Redgrave and Morgan Freeman. He later continued to land guest roles in Nash Bridges and Malcolm & Eddie, and was credited for his part in the TV movie Little Richard. He later starred alongside Jessica Alba on the James Cameron-produced apocalyptic action series Dark Angel. Ballard rose to fame as the urban philosopher Herbal Thought on the show. Since then, he has worked on feature films like the biographical drama Men of Honor, and the thriller Automatic. In 2002 and 2003, Ballard made appearances in Philly, The Division, and CSI: Crime Scene Investigation. He later landed another starring role in the CBS series Numb3rs, playing Special Agent David Sinclair alongside Judd Hirsch and Rob Morrow. Some of Ballard’s other appearances have been in She Spies, Boomtown, the short film Before Now, and the drama Black Cloud by Rick Schroder.
