Ali Larter is an American actress and former fashion model who was born on February 28, 1976 in Cherry Hill, New Jersey. She attended Carusi Middle School and Cherry Hill High School West. At the age of 14, she signed with Ford Models and traveled the world for her modeling career. She temporarily settled in Japan when she was 17 and moved to Los Angeles with her boyfriend. She then took up acting lessons while there.
In 1997, Ali Larter made her television debut starring in an episode of Brooke Shields’ comedy Suddenly Susan. Her next professional acting job was as Angela in the television series Chicago Sons, followed by a role as Samantha in Chicago Hope. She also starred in the sitcom Just Shoot Me! as well as being on Dawson’s Creek for two episodes. In 1999, Larter starred in her first feature film, Varsity Blues, opposite her real life best friend Amy Smart and actor James Van Der Beek. Her first film was a commercial success, and she became known for her infamous scene wearing a whip cream bikini. Her next movies were more teen comedies, like Giving It Up and Drive Me Crazy. She was then cast as Sara Wolfe in the horror remake House on Haunted Hill.
Ali Larter continued her career by starring in the 2000 horror film Final Destination. She also appeared in the comedy Legally Blonde with Reese Witherspoon. She next starred alongside Colin Farrell in American Outlaws, and was also in the Kevin Smith film Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back as Chrissy. In 2001, she was given a role in the stage play The Vagina Monologues in New York City. She reprised her role in 2003’s Final Destination 2, and appeared in 2005’s independent film Confess. That year, she starred opposite Amanda Peet and Ashton Kutcher in A Lot Like Love. She followed this up with a role in the biographical film Crazy before being cast in her famous role as Niki Sanders in the NBC science fiction drama series Heroes. The Tim Kring-created show earned Larter a nomination for Best Supporting Actress in the 33rd Saturn Awards. She was also in 2007’s Bollywood film Marigold, where she played the title character. She was cast alongside Mila Jovovich in the horror film Resident Evil: Extinction that same year.
