Actress Alexandra Breckenridge was born on May 15, 1982 in Darien, Connecticut. The niece of actor Michael Weatherly, who she highly regards, she moved to California when she was 11 years old, and started appearing in local theater productions. Her first big break came through a starring role on the play R.L. Stine’s Ghost of Fear Street. She jumped to the screen in the late 1990s, appearing in the television movie Even the Losers, and later the film Locust Valley, before taking on guest roles in shows such as Dawson’s Creek and Freaks and Geeks, and a recurring role in Opposite Sex.
Breckenridge’s appearances increased as the year passed. She had minor roles in the films Orange County (which was uncredited) and Big Fat Liar, both released in 2002. She also appeared in Buffy the Vampire Slayer, JAG, CSI and Medium, and in the television movie Romy and Michele: In the Beginning, where she played one of the title roles. She also lent her voice to several minor characters in the animated programs Family Guy and American Dad!
Breckenridge is most know, however, for her role in the television series Dirt. She joined the series in 2007 as Willa McPherson, a journalist for DirtNow, headed by tough-willed Lucy Spiller (Courteney Cox). Her character tries to demonstrate her dedication to the job, but ends up either failing or getting disgusted at what she enters in—and eventually obsesses of sorts over her boss. She was also involved in a casual relationship with the magazine’s publisher Brent Barrow (Jeffrey Nordling); she broke off the relationship before he could attempt to start a romance between them. This was followed by another regular role, in the fantasy-comedy series The Ex List; she plays Vivian, the girlfriend of Bella’s (Elizabeth Reaser) best friend Augie (Adam Rothenberg).
