Alex is one of those popular high school students whom everybody likes because he's approachable and talented. And he admits that he is friends with everyone.
Alex is one of the student journalists in the MTV reality show
The Paper . It features the daily grind involved in producing The Circuit, the multi-awarded newspaper of Cypress Bay High School in Weston, Florida. As a journalist, Alex has the reputation of writing controversial articles during his junior year. He is, however, more well-known for his stint as The Circuit's sports editor. Although he does not play many sports himself, he has the nose for exciting sports news.
On The Paper, Alex feels that he deserve the job of editor-in-chief not only because of his journalistic skills but because of his people and leadership skills. Despite being highly favored by the other newspaper staff to bag this top position, he was instead picked to be the managing editor, the second in command. To make matters worse, he used to be best friends with
Amanda , who ended up being the one chosen for editor-in-chief. It was
Adam 's idea to bring her soup when she was sick with a sore throat in the first episode, and he feels caught in the middle of his former best friend and the other newspaper staff who bond over bashing Amanda.
For Alex, writing for his high school newspaper is important because he gets to have a broad audience for his ideas and opinions.
