American actor and model Alec Musser was born on April 11, 1973 in New York City. After graduating from the University of San Diego, he worked in a ski resort in the eastern Sierras, and during the off-season, also worked as a lifeguard. It was during these stints when he was approached by an agent, offering him modeling contracts. This led to him appearing in campaigns for Abercrombie and Fitch and Gianfrance Ferre, and in magazine spreads for GQ and Men’s Health, among others.
In 2005, Musser joined the second season of the reality search I Wanna Be a Soap Star, which he won. The prize was a role in the daytime drama All My Children; in August 2005, he took on the role of Del Henry, a role originally acted on by Winsor Harmon. The character has not returned after a ten year absence, but already he was part of a major storyline: that of Di Henry (Kelli Giddish) pretending to be Dixie Martin (Cady McClain). It was he who threatened to expose her real identity to the rest of Pine Valley. Musser’s contract was supposed to last for only 13 weeks, but the soap’s head writer Megan McTavish was so impressed that she extended his stay. He left the soap in 2007, and continues work as a model.
