Alana De La Garza’s passion for acting took her to New York, where she studied extensively under the renowned acting instructor Joanna Beckson, who is a founding member of the Circle Repertory Company. Soon after, she got her first break playing Rosa Santos on the daytime drama All My Children. Born in Columbus, Ohio on June 18, 1976, Alana de la Garza has Irish and Mexican descent. She was raised in El Paso, Texas, where she won the “Miss Photogenic” title in the Miss El Paso Teen USA beauty pageant. She studied physical therapy and social work at the University of Texas and soon lived in Florida. Moving to New York, she got numerous roles on film and television.
Continuing her career, Alana de la Garza landed parts in series like JAG, playing the character Maria Elena in the episode “A Tangled Webb: Part 2.” She was next seen in the series Las Vegas, soon being cast in the fantasy Western film El Segundo in 2004. She made an appearance in Two and a Half Men and Charmed, soon starring in the short-lived series The Mountain. She received applause for her acting, soon landing a role opposite David Boreanaz in 2005’s Mr. Fix-It. Alana de la Garza also became a guest star on the series Smallville, playing an evil Kryptonian during the show’s fifth season premiere. She soon received a recurring role in the CBS series CSI: Miami, playing the character Marisol Delko. She joined the cast of NBC's Emmy Award-winning series Law & Order as the Assistant District Attorney Connie Rubirosa in 2006, during the premiere of its 17th season. De la Garza has also been seen on The Book of Daniel, playing the role of Jessie Gilmore for three episodes. She has been featured twice on the “Girls of Maxim” online gallery as well.
