A good-natured bear of an actor, Abraham Benrubi (whose middle name is, appropriately enough, Hercules) made his first big impression as a bully-turned-buddy on the high-school sitcom Parker Lewis Can't Lose. He was born on October 4, 1969 in Indianapolis, Indiana and graduated from Broad Ripple High School. His parents were Patricia and Asher Benrubi, and his father was known to be a radio personality in St. Louis.
Throughout the '90s Benrubi shuttled between the big and small screens. While in films he was usually stereotyped as a biker, thug or jock, TV offered him more diverse parts, including a guest spot as a young Dan Goodman on Roseanne and a long stint on ER as a lovable but irresponsible admissions clerk. After guest-starring on what seemed like every single network show, he landed a regular role on Men in Trees in 2006 as Ben Tomasson His first major role, however, was on the show Wings, playing a gay son who appeared during the show’s third and sixth season. Some of his other television credits include appearances in Dark Angel, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Criminal Minds. Benrubi is also known for voicing a variety of characters, some of them on shows like American Dad!, and Seth Green’s stop-motion animation show Robot Chicken. He has also been seen on films like Open Range and Without a Paddle, starring Dax Shepard, Matthew Lillard and Seth Green. In 2005, he was cast in Miss Congeniality 2: Armed & Fabulous. Later on, he voiced a pig in the film adaptation Charlotte’s Web, and portrayed the character Bruno in the crime comedy Venus & Vegas. He is also credited for his work in The Rugrats Movie, Twister, and George of the Jungle. His other television roles include those in Married with Children, The X Files, Grace Under Fire, Growing Pains and the pilot episode of Angel Street.
