About the Fan Columnists

The BuddyTV team often looks to its devoted readers and like-minded TV fans to help bring content to the site with our Fan Columnist program. These TV hounds and aspiring writers work hard each week, creating creative recaps, for the shows you love. Feel free to contact them about their articles or to talk about the latest happenings on their favorite shows.
Alison Stern-Dunyak, The Good Wife
Originally from Virginia Beach, Alison now calls Lexington, Mass., home and can say “wicked good” as well as native New Englanders. In addition to being a devoted movies-in-the-theater fan, she watches a lot of TV, thanks to her two well-loved DVRs. Her favorite show of all time remains Buffy the Vampire Slayer, but she’s currently enthralled by The Good Wife (of course), Mad Men, Fringe, Dexter, Modern Family, True Blood, and some, but not all, of the Real Housewives. She holds a B.A. in communications from Virginia Tech, works as a corporate writer-editor, and still laments the flawed final season of Veronica Mars.
Nicole contributes to BuddyTV from her lovely home in Nashville, Tennessee, and she is the biggest Bones fan you’ll find there…well, at least that’s what she thinks. When she’s not going to school full time, Nicole readily enjoys watching TV on her ridiculously comfy couch, and she thinks DVR and TiVo are two of the best inventions ever. Truth be told, she’s probably unhealthily addicted to hers. Besides Bones, Nicole’s favorite TV shows include Glee, House, The Vampire Diaries, The Office, Chuck, and the forever amazing Lost.
Lisa originally hails from the Chicagoland area, but currently lives in the entertainment mecca, Los Angeles.  She has always loved television, but never knew that there was such a strong community of television critical writers and fans.  Even though she teaches English and history full time for 6th and 7th graders, she makes time for her favorite shows, all thanks to a typically filled DVR.  Before DVR, she made it home for Six Feet Under, Big Love, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and Dawson's Creek.  Currently, she is completely obsessed with House, but makes room for some other favorites: Mad Men, True Blood, Glee, and In Treatment.  She lives for whip-smart dialogue, tragic anti-heroes, and modern musical numbers. When she wants to dip her toe in reality television, she turns to Project Runway, anything Kardashian, and a little America's Next Top Model.   Keep an eye out for her pieces on Mad Men and House.
Kaye David, Chuck
Kaye is a California girl (West Coast, represent!) and UCLA alum (go Bruins!) who currently attends grad school at Boston University. Her shows of choice include Glee, Community, The Office, and of course, Chuck. When she's not spending her time living vicariously through fictional TV characters, she enjoys eating breakfast for dinner, people watching at the mall, Wikipedia-ing, and cheering on her favorite sports teams.
Jacky is a fan of  P.G. Wodehouse and other humorists. She lives down south way and is fond of specialty coffees and books. She and her husband are ‘foster parents’ to homeless teens. She fancies herself a writer and has engaged in scribing fan fictions for an extensive audience of possibly five or more. She is currently working on a book, an implausible mystery. Well, who isn't? She enjoys classic rock and has ‘head banged’ once too often.
Janalen Samson, Grey's Anatomy
Janalen is delighted to be returning as the BuddyTV Fan Columnist for Grey's Anatomy.  A fan of the show from the very beginning, she's seen every episode at least once, watched many episodes multiple times and owns all six seasons on DVD! In addition to GA,  her current "can't miss" shows are Castle, The Closer, The Good Wife, Mad Men, and Modern Family.  All-Time Favorite Shows include Alias, Lost, and The West Wing. Janalen is an avid reader and an accomplished musician and enjoys traveling to far-off places and spending time with her family.
Ana Acosta, Life Unexpected
Ana is from Montevideo, Uruguay and even though her mother tongue is Spanish, she started studying English as a foreign language at a young age. Ana grew up watching shows like Alf, Full House and The Cosby Show. As a teenager, she always knew what was going on in: The Nanny, Friends, The X-Files, Dawson’s Creek and Felicity. Currently, she's a big fan of: Life Unexpected, The Vampire Diaries, Grey’s Anatomy, Dexter, House, Lie To Me, How I  Met Your Mother, Glee and The Big Bang Theory, just to name a few. She likes to know what people are talking about, so she watches the good, the bad and the ugly. When not watching TV Ana enjoys listening to music while walking on the beach and going to concerts.
