Andy Liu, Publisher

Andy is a Seattle native who enjoys watching and writing about his favorite shows including 24, Lost, and Deal or No Deal. He is a frequent speaker on entertainment and online topics. You'll often find him joining in BuddyTV sessions for the Seahawks and 24. When not in front of the television, Andy devotes considerable time to his favorite non-profit pursuits. Andy holds an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

David Niu, Editor-in-Chief

David is a rabid sports fan and can be caught watching his favorite sports programming while starting or joining a BuddyTV TVj broadcast. His current favorite non-sports television shows include Grey's Anatomy, American Idol, The 4400, Brothers and Sisters, and Project Runway. David also enjoys slicing and dicing Nielsen data for trends and trivia. When not watching TV, he enjoys backpacking through developing countries ever since he caught the travel bug while studying abroad in Beijing, Singapore, and France. David holds a BA from The University of California at Berkeley and an MBA from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

Oscar Dahl, Senior Writer

Oscar Dahl is a pure-bred Seattlite who has been a writer ever since he decided he was a writer in the early 00's. A graduate of Loyola Marymount University's Film School, Oscar enjoys the finer things in life, like a good sandwich, the collected works of Ed Asner, Bollywood movies, and the Zen philosophy of poorly translated fortune cookies. His passion for television has crippled his social life, but it's been a boon to BuddyTV. His favorite shows are Lost, The Office, 30 Rock, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia and The Wire. And he really likes Road House.

John Kubicek, Features Writer

John is a New Jersey native who now calls Seattle home. When he's not reading or writing about TV, he's watching it. At last count, he's at more than 30 hours of prime time network TV a week, and among his favorites are The Office, Boston Legal, Friday Night Lights, Battlestar Galactica and It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. The Wire is the single best show on TV, and one of the finest achievements in the history of television. That is not an opinion. John graduated from Drew University with a B.A. in Mathematics (minoring in English and Philosophy), and briefly attended the University of Maryland's doctoral program in Mathematics before dropping out to watch TV for a living.

Debbie Chang, Features Writer

Debbie hails from small town Massachusetts, but now lives in Seattle. Her favorite shows include Friday Night Lights, Heroes, So You Think You Can Dance and Gossip Girl. She emphatically does not like Lost. When not watching TV, Debbie likes to play ultimate frisbee, train for the Seattle Marathon and tramp around the mountains in her snowshoes. Debbie is an aspiring geek and can often be found pondering her chances of surviving a zombie apocalypse.

Thank you so much for your continued support! We look forward to providing you the best news on your favorite TV shows.

BuddyTV Awards Top Publicists for 2008

Seattle – September 22, 2008 – BuddyTV has announced the eleven recipients of the BuddyTV 2008 Top Publicist Award. The BuddyTV Top Publicist Award recognizes publicists who have demonstrated exceptional leadership and innovation in generating crucial online awareness and exposure for their shows and talent. BuddyTV President, David Niu, remarks, "We had a particularly challenging time this year narrowing down from a large field of talented nominees, but we really feel that the eleven publicists who were selected this year pushed the envelope and generated a tremendous amount of online buzz that was critical to the success of their shows."

The following, in alphabetical order, are this year’s winners of the BuddyTV 2008 Top Publicist Award:

Todd Adair – Director, Publicity – FOX
My-Lan Beauford – Manager Publicity & Promotions – Fanscape, Inc.
Jeff Fordis – Media Relations – ABC
Suzanne Gomez – Director, Primetime Publicity – CW
Mitch Graham – Director, Publicity – CBS
Cindy Guagenti – Managing Director – BWR
Cait Hood – Manager, New Media – FOX
Holly Ollis – Senior Publicist – Warner Bros. Television
Joanne Park – Senior Press Manager – NBC
Colleen Sullivan – Vice President, Publicity – CBS
Jeff Tobler – Publicist – CW

"As the importance of the internet as a marketing, advertising, and consumption channel continues to grow, there is no doubt that publicists who know how to grow and leverage this medium provide incredible value to their show and fans everywhere," says Royce Yuen, Manager at BuddyTV. This trend only seems to be picking up steam as websites become part of a healthy ecosystem to nurture and grow viewership for shows. For example, "fans who love a particular show, like Supernatural, don't just go to one website for Supernatural news but instead scour the internet for all websites, from the official site to smaller blogs, for all things Supernatural that contribute to a healthy ecosystem for fans," adds David Niu. On BuddyTV.com, the typical trend is that the show-specific traffic begins to spike the day before a new episode airs, the day of the airing, and the day after. As online marketing and publicity become increasingly important to a TV show's success so will the innovation and the leadership from publicists, such as the recipients of the BuddyTV 2008 Top Publicists Award.
