Tired of the same old cooking shows? Here's one with a twist. The Food Network is serving us up with some culinary expertise and comedy in their newest offering entitled Food Detectives. Famed culinary expert Ted Allen will be hosting the show, which will premiere on Tuesday, July 29th at 9pm. Food Detectives, a half-hour primetime series, will focus on the connection between science and good food, unraveling some of the most intriguing food mysteries ever.
"I'm so excited to be working with Food Network on this new series," Ted Allen said. "It's a fantastic opportunity for me to head up my own show and I know that viewers are going to be totally engaged with the information we are discovering on 'Food Detectives'!"

While Carson Kressley's own fashion choices (like the one pictured at left) sometimes raised a few eyebrows, he still managed to maintain the appropriate level of style authority to win the trust of most of his hapless subjects on Bravo's makeover show Queer Eye.
Now, after several years of transforming straight men on Queer Eye, Carson will now be using that well-honed style-savvy on a brand new reality program that will air on the CW Network sometime early next year.

Ted Allen has become a familiar face to millions through his work on Queer Eye and Top Chef. Through his role on Queer Eye, he has helped bridged the gap for many of their clueless subjects (and no doubt some of the home viewers who might feel equally clueless) about food and entertaining.
If your area of weakness is wine knowledge, you have ever wished you could have your own Ted Allen cram session before an important party or event, you now have a new resource to turn to. His PBS Series “Uncorked! Wine Made Simple” is being released on DVD this fall.

Through the first four seasons of Queer Eye, Jai Rodriguez has helped transform many of the subjects who came looking for assistance from the Fab Five. He's the "Culture Vulture" who helps the hapless with social interaction, dance, music and other social and cultural areas.
He's sure to do it again in this fifth and final season of Queer Eye. But as the series comes to an end, Jai seems to be thinking it's time for a makeover of his own.
Jai will be appearing on Dr. 90210 on Thursday. He's going to Dr.Will Kirby – that's right, Dr. Will from Big Brother is now on Dr. 90120 – requesting lips like Mario Lopez.

Next week, Bravo will kick off the last season of the reality hit, Queer Eye. The Fab Five have been helping straight men (and women) make themselves over from their wardrobes to their living spaces, and more, since 2003. The show has been nominated for Emmy awards, winning one in 2004. To kick off the fifth and final season on October 2, the premiere episode will feature the "Straight Guy Pageant" hosted by the legendary Susan Lucci. An all-new episode follows where the Fab Five help a man who's about to meet the woman he's been talking to on Match.com for the last six months.

Early this year, Bravo announced that it would be canceling its makeover show, Queer Eye, due in part to declining ratings. The network also said that it would be airing the fifth and final season of the reality series this summer. However, a recent press release from the network indicated that the premiere of the final season has been slightly delayed.
“Bravo spotlights the fall of 2007 with the final season of one of TV's most groundbreaking reality series, the Emmy Award-winning Queer Eye, which concludes its four-year run with 10 all-new episodes,” read the press release.
