Big Ratings for 'House,' Big Bucks for Laurie

October 7, 2008

For over four seasons, FOX's House has entertained us with his dry humor and cynical wit that never fails to amuse viewers worldwide.  In fact, the show which garnered impressive ratings from the beginning of its run, is still going strong, particular with viewers who watch on DVR.  TV by the Numbers reports that for the week of September 15-21, FOX's House had the largest audience via DVR viewing, garnering 4.064 million, which is one of the largest DVR audiences measured to date.

Alongside House, other shows that have ranked among the most watched through DVR are Fringe, Bones, Prison Break and Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. Included in the top ten list of shows with the largest DVR audiences include Big Brother, America's Next Top Model, America's Got Talent, 90210 and Kitchen Nightmares.

House: Lisa Edelstein Hints on Spoilers

September 30, 2008

houseIt seems that romance is in the cards for Lisa Edelstein's Lisa Cuddy.  For four seasons, the medical drama House has toyed with the degree of sexual tension between Cuddy and cynic medical genius House (Hugh Laurie) due to some sort of romantic history between the pair.  At one point, it was even hinted that they had a one night stand in the past.  Physical love has never been apparent been the two but that just might change as House heads further into its fifth season.

Warning: Spoilers ahead!!!

Laurie Talks About the New 'House'

September 25, 2008

LaurieOn the previous episode of House, the quirky doctor (Hugh Laurie) was still pining over Wilson (Robert Sean Leonard).  He even hires a private investigator, played by Michael Weston in a recurring capacity, to check on him to see if he is.  We found the answer when House visited Wilson, who was only too happy to slam the door in his face.

This whole House-not-being-friends-with-Wilson thing is just one of the many changes House underwent going into its fifth season.  And while ratings may not be comparable to last season's premiere (due, in part, to the change in timeslot), the whole mess and the addition of new characters gave the writers of House more room to maneuver in terms of storyline and relationships, according to Laurie.

House: Episode 5.2 "Not Cancer" Recap

September 23, 2008

Hugh Laurie and Michael Weston, HouseNow that Wilson stopped being friends with House on the season 5 premiere, House is left to figure out how to fix it, which means plenty of wacky schemes. In the appropriately titled “Not Cancer,” House comes up with three fairly insane ways to mend his lost friendship.

The first plan is to make friends with a new doctor at the hospital. He flirts rather heavily with a potential new BFF, but the guy is sufficiently creeped out when House invites him over to his place.

'House' Losing Steam?

September 18, 2008

HouseWhile it's true that fans of the hit medical dramedy House excitedly waited for the show's season 5 premiere last Tuesday, the ratings slightly fell below target.  Sure, House on its new time slot at 8pm led all the shows that night at 14.4 million viewers.  A year-on-year comparison with last season's premiere, however, reveals that it actually fell slightly above 20 percent from 18.3 million.

To those who missed the House premiere, you can check the review here.  It was, no matter how you look at it, a heavily anticipated episode.  Not only did it promise to reveal the aftermath of the disastrous catastrophe that threatened to foil one of television's most watched bromances today, the patient of the week part of the show is always something to look forward to.
