On the last episode of Dexter, Miguel offered Dexter a new potential victim though he wasn't so sure if she fit the Code. Disappointed, Miguel was understandably angry, making Dexter believe the new friendship was in danger. Meanwhile, Rita found out that Sylvia is beginning to suspect her husband, which is Miguel, was having an affair. Debra was forced to tell Anton that he was being used as bait to lure the Skinner. Of course, they now need to find a new way to find the Skinner, which kind of made Anton feel good about Debra.
On the next episode the Showtime series, Miguel brings Dexter another “project.” The difference this time is that he wants to get his hands dirty and go at it hands on. As such, Dexter starts thinking if it's time to teach Miguel the Code for his own safety as well as Miguel's. Now as Dexter walks Miguel through the process, Dexter struggles with (and enjoys) letting Miguel into his private world so completely, but doesn't realize that this has only aroused Miguel's appetite.

Fictional crime series are oftentimes looked upon as bad influences to the society due to the influences it creates on the youth. Showtime’s Dexter isn’t an exception. In fact, earlier this year, the award-winning series has been criticized by the Parents Television Council after the show debuted on CBS. Creator Jeff Lindsay disdainfully commented that the show mustn’t be condemned, while others believe that it is the parents’ duty to guide their kids when it comes to watching TV.
More recently, Dexter’s name was again thrown into the spotlight after an Edmonton filmmaker was charged with first-degree murder in the death of a 38-year-old Johnny Brian Altinger.

This season of Dexter is undeniably leaving fans for more, with every episode filled with drama and heart-stopping mystery and intrigue. Way before the season began, the show’s stars and production staff have promised us a grueling season that will delve deeper into the complex emotions of Dexter, who has now found a friend in Miguel Prado, played by none other than Jimmy Smits.
"The idea of having a friend like Miguel is seductive," executive producer Sarah Colleton told the New York Times last month. "They go fishing. Miguel teaches Dexter how to golf. They emotionally bond over the fact that both of them had very strong-willed fathers who didn’t believe in them."

Earlier this year, Showtime collaborated with Marc Ecko Entertainment for the development of a videogame based on the network's dark serial drama Dexter that will be available for several platforms, including Sony Playstation 3 and Microsoft Xbox 360. Several months later, the two parties have decided to venture in a Dexter iPhone videogame, with Icarus Studio as the developer.
“I am so excited to have Icarus Studios on board to develop the Dexter iPhone game,” Marc Fernandez, vice president of Marc Ecko Entertainment, said in a statement. “From the second we began this project we wanted to throw everything we had at it, that's exactly why we wanted Icarus Studios as a partner - a 100 person plus developer focusing their technology on making the Dexter game the best it can possibly be.”

The fall season is still early, but the networks are already making decisions about the fates of the new shows. Following in the footsteps of the CW's 90210, FOX's Fringe and CBS' The Mentalist, NBC picked up Knight Rider for a full season today. In other news, Showtime picked up its Emmy-nominated drama Dexter for two additional seasons.
For NBC, the full season order for Knight Rider might vex some critics. The show became a punching bag for TV critics this season, earning some of the worst reviews of any fall show. In spite of them, viewers have consistently tuned in, and while the ratings aren't huge, NBC sees the potential in a fun action series.
