AJ Cook, who plays FBI BAU Special Agent Jennifer "JJ" Jareau on Criminal Minds, has signed on to star in an independently-produced feature film comedy called Misconceptions. The film is being directed by Oscar and Emmy-nominated director Ron Satlof and is written by Ira Pearlstein and Ron Satlof.
Described as a movie that takes a lighthearted look at the ongoing culture war between same-sex parenting and Christian conservatives, Misconceptions features the Criminal Minds actress as Melinda Bliss, a religiously conservative, married southern woman who receives a message from God telling her to act as a surrogate mother and carry a child for two married gay men who live in Boston, consisting a Jewish doctor and an African-American dance choreographer. Trouble and comedy ensue when when the African-American man comes to her home down south to “manage” her pregnancy.

Criminal Minds is back! The perpetrator-profiling crime-solving series returns tonight with its first new episode since the resolution of the writers' strike. As an added treat, tonight's installment features a special guest from one of the most popular cult shows of the late `90s.

Cast and crew were back in production a mere three days after the end of the impasse. They are scheduled to complete a total of seven new episodes for this current third season, before going on a short break, and then returning to work anew to do a whopping 27 installments for next season.
