Andrew Van De Kamp (played by Shawn Pyfrom) is the son of Bree Van De Kamp on Desperate Housewives. Early in the series Andrew used to get in a lot of fights with his mother, as most teenage boys do. This situation continues to get worse after his father is killed. Shawn and Bree fight over many things, including the men that Bree is dating.

Eventually his mother kicks him out of the house and Andrew found himself homeless for a period of time. This was a struggle for him. Eventually Shawn and Bree try to fix their relationship. This is a struggle and around this time is when it is revealed that Andrew was gay.

Bree and Andrew rekindle their relationship, but it doesn't last. Andrew moves out from Brees house again, but this time it isn't over a fight, it is because he felt he needed to be on his own to grow as a person. When the series jumped ahead in time, it is learned that Andrew becomes a personal assistant, working for his mother, Bree!

After this period, around Season 6, Shawn Pyfrom stopped being a regular cast member on the Desperate Housewives cast he appeared in a couple of episodes with small parts. During the seventh season, he continued to appear in small roles in two or three episodes.

Andrew is not a major character in the series, but his story lines have made the news because of his sexuality.
