Julia Walker

Julia Walker (Sarah Jane Morris) is a recently divorced teacher on the primetime TV show "Brothers & Sisters." An only child, she is married to Tommy Walker (Balthazar Getty) at the beginning of the show's timeline but divorces him in Season 4. During the course of the show she has gone from a happy newlywed to a depressed, vindictive divorcee.

Her emotional downfall began in Season 1 when she learned that her husband Thomas Walker was incapable of producing children. The two opted to receive donor sperm from Thomas's two brothers and to never show which one was actually the father. Julia became pregnant with twins, but went into labor early which resulted in the one child, William, being born very weak and in need of a transplant. The transplant could come from the other, healthier child Elizabeth but could also end up killing both children. After a lot of heartache and emotions, the couple decided not to have the transplant so at least one child had a chance at a full life. This, of course, resulted in the death of William. Julia secretly resented Thomas for the rest of their marriage, blaming him for the death of the child.

Needing to escape the depressing reality of what just happened, Julia took Elizabeth and stayed with her family for a while. During her absence, her husband Thomas slept with his secretary, Lena (Emily Rose) and Julia had a one-night stand with a man she had no previous connection to. In Season 2 the couple admitted these affairs to one another which led to more tension in their relationship.

In the last two seasons of the show Julia leaves for Seattle with her daughter after it is revealed that Thomas was involved in an illegal scheme and fled to Mexico. In Season 4 they finally divorce after Thomas returns to see Elizabeth. Julia now goes by her maiden name of Ridge rather than Walker.
